Frequently asked questions

Thinking about trying Medobe MindMap? Here are quick answers to the questions people ask before signing up.

What is Medobe MindMap?

Medobe MindMapis a visual “thinking layer” for Google Sheets. It turns task lists in your sheet into an interactive mind map so you can see priorities, focus areas, and next steps at a glance — without moving your data out of Google Sheets.

Do I need to import or migrate my data?

No. The app reads from and writes to your Google Sheet directly. Nothing is duplicated into a new database you would have to maintain. If you do not have a sheet yet, the app can create a starter sheet in your Google Drive.

Is it free to use?

Yes. Medobe MindMap is currently free during early access. We may introduce paid plans later, but anything you build will keep working with your own Google Sheet.

Do I need a Google account?

Yes. You sign in with Google so the app can connect to a Google Sheet you own or have permission to edit. There is no separate password to manage.

What permissions does the app request?

The minimum needed: a basic profile (name, email) for sign-in, and access to read and modify the Google Sheets you choose to use with the app. The app does not browse your whole Drive or open files you did not pick. You can revoke access from your Google account at any time.

Where is my data stored?

Your tasks live in your Google Sheet. The app keeps a small cached snapshot to render the map quickly, but the source of truth stays in Google Sheets, owned by your Google account. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Will this change my existing sheet?

Only when you ask it to. Adding, editing, or deleting tasks in the app updates rows in your sheet so the two stay in sync. A read-only map mode is also available if you only want to view, not edit. Deletes are “soft” — rows are marked deleted in your sheet rather than removed, so you can recover them.

How do I restore a deleted task?

Soft-deleted rows stay in Google Sheets but disappear from the map while Deleted is set. Open your spreadsheet in Google Sheets, find the row, clear the Deleted cell (leave it blank), optionally clear DeletedAt and Delete Notes, save, then refresh the map. See Map settings > Google Sheet for the same guidance. If you used a tool that permanently removes deleted rows from the sheet, restore from version history or a backup instead.

How is this different from a regular spreadsheet?

Spreadsheets are great at storing rows. Medobe MindMap adds a visual layer on top so you can see your work the way your brain does — by topic, priority, and focus — and act on it directly. Same data, a clearer way to think about it.

Can I use it for team or work projects?

Yes. Share the underlying Google Sheet with collaborators using normal Google Sheets permissions. Each person signs in with their own Google account and gets a personal map view; edits flow back to the same shared sheet.

Can I cancel or delete my account?

Yes. You can stop using the app at any time, revoke its access from your Google account, and request deletion of the metadata stored on our side. Your Google Sheet remains in your Drive — it is not deleted by removing the app.

Is my data used to train AI models?

No. When optional AI features are enabled, your data may be analyzed to generate suggestions you can approve or decline, but it is not used to train external foundation models. AI actions are user-approved before anything changes in your sheet.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes. Medobe MindMap is a responsive web app that works on phones, tablets, and laptops in modern browsers. There is nothing to install.

Is this affiliated with Google?

No. Google Sheets is a trademark of Google LLC. This app is not affiliated with Google.

How do I get started?

Click “Sign In” on the home page and approve access to Google Sheets. You can connect an existing sheet or have the app create a starter sheet in your Google Drive — usually under a minute from sign-in to your first map.
